My standard rate is $125 a session. I use a sliding scale to offer therapy at a more equitable and accessible rate as much as possible. Things considered for sliding scale rates include earning power and financial security, ability to meet basic needs, support from family and others, and the impact of marginalization.

I can take several insurances. Although I have many conflicting feelings about the predatory policies of insurance companies, the majority of my clients can only afford consistent care by using their benefits.
I currently accept: Aetna, Meritain, Cigna, Anthem BCBS, Optum (United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford), and Carelon. I am unable to take Medicaid or Medicare plans.
I partner with Alma and Headway to accept insurance.

Absolutely! Please inquire with your insurance if your plan covers OON services for mental health and if there are any limits.
I will send you a monthly super bill that has everything you need to submit for reimbursement.
If the process is overwhelming, we can discuss courtesy billing options.
-
You will need to have a card on file and will be billed after each session through Alma or Headway.
-
Yup! Our consult can be held via phone or video chat.
We can use that time to discuss your needs and intentions for therapy and cover any of your logistical questions.
Our consults are also a great chance to get to know a little more about each other, see if we vibe, and discover if we work best together!

I hold sessions between 11AM and 8PM from Monday through Thursday.
-
Sessions are typically 45 minutes.
Sessions are held weekly or biweekly. Long-term clients may choose to step down to monthly or maintenance sessions.
Everyone’s needs are different so if you feel you would benefit from a longer or shorter session, I’m happy to discuss that in our consultation!

Yes! I have a very cozy office in Newburgh, NY. There’s something special about in-person sessions and I love to hold them.
Clients have also enjoyed walk and talk sessions in local parks when the weather is nice.
-
I work with adolescents (13+) and adults. I do not typically work with teens over telehealth.
-
I do! Relational therapy sessions are about 55 minutes.
Please inquire if your insurance plan covers “couples counseling” sessions. If you are paying out of pocket, my rate for relational therapy is the same as individual therapy.
-
Please provide a 24-hour notice for a cancellation. If there is a less than 24-hour notice for a cancellation or a no-show, I will charge a $50 fee.
This is intentionally lower than most providers to not be punishing but to maintain boundaries and honor the value and respect for our time set aside for our sessions.
-
Penny does not have to be a part of your sessions. We can discuss scheduling around the times she is at the office. Virtual sessions may also be a convenient fit in this case!
I would recommend folks with significant dog allergies consider virtual sessions as I cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. I’m also happy to refer you to a trusted colleague with an allergen-free office.
